52/54 Oak Street

Built c. 1890 

This gable front vernacular residence is located on the corner of St. Louis St and Oak St.  It is a two story two over three bay one over one sash plan with raking eaves and two chimneys.  The ornamentation is slight.  A side addition appears on the east side, which is also two stories and covered second story entrance is attached to the west side.  Behind, a single story addition is attached.  Cladding is vinyl and the roof is covered in asphalt shingles. 

T. Major is listed on the Hopkins Map, though his name could not be found in the Burlington City Directories.[1]  In the 1902 Directory, Joseph Brown is listed at 52 Oak St.[2]
