Built c. 1889
This structure, located on the corner of St. Mary St. and Manhattan Drive has had many renovations. It is a one and a half story ell plan with one over two bays and a side entrance, much like other worker’s housing in the Shaw Block built during this time period. The fenestration is one over one, and a center chimney rises above the rooftop. Raking eaves shelter the clapboard sheathing and a one story screen porch encloses the main entrance to this residence.
L. Hamlin is the listed name on the Hopkins Map while T. Hamlin, gentleman, is listed in the 1889/1890 Burlington City Directory.[1] The address at that time was 212 North Bend. [2] By 1902, Larry LaCross may have been the owner of this home. [3]
