144 Intervale Avenue

Built 1890

This vinyl sided gable front residence is a two story two over three bay gable front structure that stands near the intersection of Intervale Ave. with Willow St.  The sash is one over one and a center chimney adorns the raking eaves of the rectangular massing and an off-center paneled door front with a protruding gabled hood is raised approximately two feet off of the ground.  The balloon frame structure rests on a stone foundation and is part of the Italianate-vernacular trend that befell the North End during this time period.

Eli Charboneau (Charbonneau, Onarboneau), carpenter is listed on the Hopkins Map in 1890.[1]  His name first appears in the 1890 Burlington City Directory and continued to be listed through 1902, though at that time, the address was 146 Intervale Ave.  Also at that address in 1902 was Edward F. Parent, carpenter. [2]
