Perseus Survey Solutions

History

* In the spring of 2001 Perseus Survey Solutions
was selected to provide UVM departments with a tool
that could be used to easily develop sophisticated surveys
without the need to learn complex HTML or Perl programming.

* CIT purchased the server tools needed to support data gathering
and can create MySQL databases for individual departments to
use to store Perseus created survey data.

* Individual departments will purchase the desktop software from Perseus (Windows ONLY) <>$500

Overview of the process

* Contact Doug Varney (6-1181) to discuss your survey needs and find out if Perseus is a good solution.

* Setup MYsql odbc datasource Using the username and pw provided by Doug.
* Create your survey using Perseus desktop software.
* Test the survey once you are ready, by entering sample data.
  - The first time you submit, a table will be created to receive the data.
* Connect to the Enterprise database using Perseus.
  - You will see your test data.
* Place the survey html file where people will be able to get to it (chmod).
* Connect to Enterprise data using Perseus and build your report (presentation).
