LANDMARKS: From west, intersects 47 in a grassy clearing with pond; stay east at offset 4-way intersection; pass road to right (to Wolcott) and turn left. From east, starts at VAST signpost. COMMENT: VAST and 4-wheeler trail. Fun descent traveling east to west, good technical climb west to east. Loop or figure 8 with 490, 59, 47, 48 for a fun ride.

COMMENT: Ignore ATV side trails. Intersects old railroad bed at north end.

Ride either way. Heavy use. 80% hard packed dirt, 5% loose rock & cobbles, 5% running water over a mud bottom, 10% standing mud. LANDMARKS: From the southwest, the trail is in a landing just north of serious ledge on 59; from the northeast, the trail is not mapped, and is about 2 miles from S end of 490 and 2 miles S of VAST sign on 5,6,8. COMMENT: Connects Eagle Ledges Road with 490 & 25. Great descent with a high body count east to west. Ledge, steep drop-off, technical. Heavy ATV use.

Bad in wet weather. Ride either way. Heavy use. 50% hard packed dirt, 30% running water over a mud bottom, 10% standing mud, 10% under water. LANDMARKS: Eagle Ledges Road. The south end is in a landing just north of steep ledge on 59; the north end meets 5 in a grassy clearing with 4-way intersection & pond. COMMENT: The ultimate in Vermont mud bog riding. Heavy use as ATV/dirt bike trail. Mud over the hubs. You will get wet. Loop with 59, 46, 5, 490.

048: 0.37 mi. 44°25'N 72°27'W. Superb. Moderate technically. Moderate aerobically. Single track. No motorized use. Hard to find both ends. Very difficult to follow route. Bad in wet weather. Ride either way. Very little or no use. 100% grassy. Forest openings. LANDMARKS: The west end branches immediately, both branches shortly rejoin. East end is in a field, it is not clear if the trail can be followed through to road. Do NOT ride in the hay field, stay to the edge if you follow the road to the east. COMMENT: Mostly ferns.

LANDMARKS: From the east, the trail is off of Log Town Road; lots of driveways, at drive for last red house, the road is to the left. COMMENT: Waterfall at north end of Log Town Road.

051: 0.72 mi. 44°26'N 72°46'W. Fair. Moderate technically. Hard aerobically. Double track. No motorized use. Easy to find both ends. Easy to follow route. Okay in wet weather. Ride either way. Very little or no use. 100% overgrown. COMMENT: Could be great trail with minor clearing of berry bushes.

COMMENT: Neat waterfalls at north end. Views to pond.

059: 1.10 mi. 44°25'N 72°31'W. Good. Moderate technically. Moderate aerobically. Double track. Used by four wheel drive vehicles. Easy to find both ends. Somewhat difficult to follow route. Bad in wet weather. Ride either way. Heavy use. 50% hard packed dirt, 5% sand, 5% loose rock & cobbles, 5% running water over a hard bottom, 10% running water over a mud bottom, 20% standing mud, 5% under water. LANDMARKS: South end starts just north of camps, follow 2 track road that is 4-wheeler trail. Eagle ledges area beautiful. Trail abused by 4-wheelers. COMMENT: The ultimate in Vermont mud bog riding. Mud over the hubs. Ledges, drop-offs, very technical maneuvers. You will get wet. Loop or figure 8 with 5, 490, 47,48.

061: 0.68 mi. 44°25'N 72°15'W. Completely unridable. COMMENT: Trail blocked by beaver pond. To south of pond there is a bypass trail to west leading to Cabot Plains Road about 50 yards south of a camp road. Bypass is good riding.

COMMENT: Trail was originally used by the CCC while building the Waterbury Dam in late 1920s.

COMMENT: Connects with trails in Little River State Park History Loop which are closed to bikes from Memorial Day through Columbus Day.

COMMENT: Gurgling brook alongside to drown out your gasping for breath as you head east to west (uphill).

LANDMARKS: The south end is near Co-op pole # 122 L1, from the north, follow bypass trail that avoids a house. COMMENT: Use the designated bypass trail near north end of trail. Views of Mt Hunger from field.

LANDMARKS: The northeast end is near a barn where a small stream crosses the River Road.

Ride either way. Moderate use. 100% hard packed dirt. Views. LANDMARKS: The north end is in backyard of house. COMMENT: Combined with 148, this is a nice little half mile bike trail which runs along a little knoll alongside Rt. 100.

LANDMARKS: Going southwest stay on the main road until a fairly big 3 way intersection that does not really match the map; this is the southwest end of 157; the start of 165 is the middle fork which is the straight ahead direction.
