Johnson State College Delegation
May 20-June 10, 2003




     During the period May 20 - June 10, 2003 a group of 12 Johnson State College students and Professor David Hutchinson travelled to Puerto Cabezas under the auspices of the Sister City project and the service organization Breakaway.

     David is a member of the Sister City Board and had visited Puerto Cabezas previously. During the spring semester he taught a course at Johnson on Nicaraguaís Atlantic coast and the students did research on the region.  Howard Jaentschke, Burlingtonís ambassador from Puerto Cabezas, travelled with the group as guide and trip manager.

     While in Bilwi the group participated in a variety of service activities, including painting the outside of the local hospital, helping a school in the community, working at a church, and planting palm trees at the municipal beach..
