Cross Examination Debate Association National Championship Tournament
March 20-23, 1998

DEBATE CENTRAL
Debating Resources for the World since 1994

The 1998 Cross Examination Debate Association National Tournament will be held at the University of Rochester on the weekend of March 20-23, 1998. The CEDA National tournament is usually one of the largest college debate tournaments held anywhere in the world, and the tournament is designed to designate one two-person team as the CEDA National Champs as well as to celebrate the season-long accomplishments of the students who participate in the many CEDA sanctioned college debate tournaments which take place during the academic year.

OUR HOSTS

Sam Nelson, the Director of Debate at Rochester, and his staff and students will be the hosts for this event. The University itself has made a substantial commitment to hosting this event, even calling off classes at Noon on Friday 3/20/98 so that the tournament can run smoothly. CEDA wants to thank our hosts on campus and in the community for making us feel so welcome. We look forward to one of the best hosted national tournaments ever!

TO ENTER

Just join CEDA and you will automatically receive an invitation. All CEDA member schools may attend our Nationals. Generally up to five two-person teams may be entered by each school wishing to attend. Additional teams can be added on a space available basis. Schools must provide qualified critics, but a few hired judges are available.

You may also obtain all invitation and registration materials right here. Simply print them out and send in the appropriate entry forms.

THE CAMPUS

The University's River Campus is very compact, and features over 125 rooms for debates. Between round moves can be kept to a minimum and at most involve moving to a building next door. Check out a map of the River Campus.
