Graduate Teaching/Forensics Assistantships North Dakota State University On behalf of the graduate faculty, I would like to invite interested students to apply for teaching and/or forensic assistantships in the Department of Communication at NDSU. We offer two year graduate study leading to the M.A. and M.S. in Mass Communication and Speech Communication. The program prepares students to pursue advanced graduate work, management-level positions, teaching or advancement in their career areas. Each year, two graduate students receive assistantships to work with the forensics program. NDSU sponsors a broad speech and debate program with a strong service commitment to high schools in the state of North Dakota. In addition to competing in AFA IE events, the program is active in CEDA, NFA L-D, and parliamentary debate. Forensics assistants receive extensive opportunities to learn coaching and administrative skills. NDSU hosts 8-10 college and high school tournaments each season, along with high school speech workshops and a summer high school speech camp. Graduate assistants entering in 1997 and 1998 will also have the opportunity to work with the Pi Kappa Delta National Convention and Tournament to be hosted by NDSU in 1999.
