My name is John Landis. I am a forestry graduate student at the University of Vermont School of Natural Resources. I am pursuing my Master's degree, focussing on Forest Pathology. I live in Burlington, Vermont and find it a nice place to live indeed. The wedding was excellent and everyone had a great time.Gwen and I just got back from our honeymoon. We travelled the Olympic Peninsula in the Pacific Northwest (Washington state). We had a wonderful time at Olympic National Park and its surrounding environs.
This is some imagery of Butternut Canker Disease
(Sirococcus clavigignenti- juglandacearum)
on a branch of the butternut tree. Studies have shown
that 94% of Butternut trees in 11 sites in Vermont are infected with this
disease. Its looks mighty grim. Luckily, however, potentially resistant
trees are being identified and investigated.
