Mount Mansfield (eastern side; 2900 ft.)
Ranch Valley
In July 1999, the newest of the VMC meterological stations was established at Mt Mansfield, in cooperation with the Mt. Mansfield Company. The station is located along the auto-toll road at 2900' (884 m) in the local area known as "Ranch Valley". This station provides basic meteorological variables including wind speed and direction, air temperature, relative humidity, total solar irradiance, and photosynthetically active radiation (PAR). These data will be valuable to research projects located on mid-elevation slopes of Mt. Mansfield.
Data are collected and stored to a Campbell CR10X datalogger as 15 min. averages. Data are available by request through the VMC data manager.
