Ceremony

Location: University Green
Date: Sunday, May 21, 2017
Start Time: 
12:30 p.m.
End Time:  2:00 p.m.
Tickets:  Tickets are not necessary if the ceremony is held outdoors. In the event of severe weather, tickets will be required to attend the College of Arts and Sciences Ceremony at its indoor venue (Severe Weather Plan). Details 
Line-up Location: Bailey-Howe/Davis Center Green
Line-up Time: 
Immediately following the main ceremony, 11:45 am
Regalia:
Students and faculty should arrive at the line-up location wearing their regalia
Diplomas:Diplomas will be handed out in the Royall Tyler Theatre (or, if the ceremony is held indoors, in the South University Heights lobby) following the College of Arts and Sciences ceremony. Unclaimed diplomas will be returned to the Registrar's Office. After Sunday, May 21, diplomas may be picked up at the Student Service Center located on the 3rd floor of the Waterman Building during the following times: Monday, May 22, 12:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., and Tuesday - Friday, May 23 – 26, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Remaining diplomas will be mailed the week of May 29.

Seating Assistance:
Please consider your mobility needs for the day. Ceremonies and receptions are generally a short walk or shuttle bus ride apart. UVM will have a limited number of wheelchairs available to transport guests needing assistance at each ceremony venue between the venue’s main entrance and their seat. Please note, guests will not be able to remain in the transport wheelchair during the ceremony, because UVM is unable to provide a wheelchair for all-day use. For assistance with a wheelchair at the end of the ceremony, please locate an usher wearing a yellow vest. If a wheelchair is needed for the full day, we recommend checking with local area vendors for availability. Photographer: GradImages, a professional commencement photography business, will photograph each student at their college/school ceremony.  Pre-event registration is encouraged. Visit the GradImages website to pre-register or to order prints. Please note, that photos take up to 72 hours to become available on the GradImages website. Prices start at $9.95.
Video: A DVD of this ceremony will be available for purchase from the UVM Bookstore. Pre-orders may be placed online beginning Monday, March 20th.

Severe Weather Plan


Severe Weather Venue for the College of Arts and Sciences: Multipurpose Facility in the Athletic Complex. Tickets will be required. (4 tickets per graduate, graduates do not need a ticket). Guests without tickets may view the ceremony on large screen display and closed-circuit TV in the Davis Center. Severe weather information will be available on the UVM main website beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20 or by calling (802) 656-3309 or toll-free (800) 903-6601.
