29-30: Breakfast on the Go: Mornings - We will be outside The Catholic Center on Monday and Tuesday mornings on Redstone Path handing out coffee, juice, and donuts. Stop by and say hello on your way to class!
September
1: Welcome Back BBQ: 6:30pm - Free food, volleyball, bocce ball, and a great way to meet some new people!
7: Wednesdays Together: 12:15/12:45pm - Please join us for Mass at 12:15, followed by a light lunch of sandwiches and salad at 12:45. It is a nice opportunity to gather together, spend some time with God, and to break up the day! This event will take place every Wednesday *except for Sept. 14* due to the Interfaith BBQ in the evening. It will resume again on September 21st.
8: Open House Ice Cream Social for First Year Students: 7pm - Come meet the staff at The Catholic Center while enjoying ice cream sundaes!
12: Monday Evening Student Mass: 9pm
13: Prayer Shawl Ministry: 7pm - Do you knit or would you like to learn? We have a prayer shawl ministry here at The Catholic Center and would like to combine the efforts of both the students and permanent community members to create shawls for people needing comfort and solace. Meet at The Catholic Center the second Tuesday of every month at 7pm.
14: REMINDER - NO "WEDNESDAYS TOGETHER" TODAY. Will resume on the 21st.
14: Interfaith BBQ: 6:30pm - The Catholic Center is hosting a BBQ with the members of the Spiritual and Religious Life Council at UVM for students to get to know each other. Please come and join us!
19: Dismas House Dinner: 3-6/6:45pm - The CSA will be cooking a meal for the residents of the Dismas House, which is a home for men and women who were recently released from prison. Cooking will begin at 3pm at the Catholic Center and then students will drive down to serve the meal at Dismas House at 6pm. You should arrive back at The Catholic Center at about 6:45pm. Please sign up in the lounge and indicate if you have a car! If you have any questions, please e-mail Scott Hess at shess@uvm.edu.
19: CSA Meeting: 7pm - The CSA will be holding large group meetings on the third Monday of every month at 7pm at the Catholic Center. Please join us! It is a good opportunity to meet some fellow Catholics on campus and to take part in planning events.

22: Twilight Retreat for First Year Students: 6-10pm - The first year of college presents the challenges and opportunities of transition. Leaving the familiarity of friends, schools and communities, and entering a world of new possibilities and choices. Through this transition, often our faith is the constant, the familiar. We will come together Thursday evening to talk about how we can sustain the faith that we have come to embrace growing up. Please consider joining us for this opportunity to meet other first year students, have some quiet prayer and journaling, and to share a home-cooked meal together. 24: Service Trip to Montreal: 8am-6pm - We will be taking a group of students to Montreal for a service project. We will be leaving The Catholic Center at 8am and returning about 6pm. The Missionaries of Charity (Mother Theresa's order) have a soup kitchen that they need help cleaning in Montreal. There will also be an opportunity for prayer with the sisters. Space is limited, so please e-mail us as soon as possible. You will need a valid picture license, passport, or birth certificate.
26: Jesuit Volunteer Corps Recruiter: 8:30pm - There will be a representative from the Jesuit Volunteer Corps at The Catholic Center on Monday at 8:30. She will be available to answer your questions about the JVC, an organization that places people in community with each other to do a year of service in the US or abroad. Please stop by and meet her!

2: Hike up Mt. Philo: 11:30am-5pm - Hike for students and permanent community up Mount Philo. Meet at the Catholic Center at 11:30am and please bring a lunch. Return should be aproximately 5pm.
