January
18: Retreat Meeting: 8:30pm - Please plan on attending the Retreat Meeting if you are interested in helping to plan the Spring student retreat.
26: Prayer Service for Victims of the Tsunami: 8:30 pm
28: Dessert Night and Coffeehouse: 7:30pm - Dessert Night and Coffeehouse for students and young adults will be held in the CC lounge.
February
4: Taize Prayer Service: 7pm CANCELLED
7: FREE CSA Student Dinner and Meeting: 6:30pm
8: Mardi Gras Party: 7pm
9: Ash Wednesday: Mass times:12:15 and 7pm, as well as a 9:30pm Prayer Service with imposition of ashes.
10: Lenten Prayer Group (Thur.): 8:30 - The Lenten Prayer Group will begin on Thursday, Feb. 10, and continues throughout Lent. This prayer group will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays, although you may choose which day you wish to attend as the topic will be the same for both to allow the most flexibility for people.
11: Lenten Reflection: 11:15am-12:15pm - Sr. Frances will be leading a Lenten Reflection that is open to students and community members every Friday during Lent.
15: Spiritual and Religious Life Council of UVM: 12:00-1:30pm - Open to all - "Pizza for the Soul" (you bring your questions, we'll bring the pizza!) Panel discussion on faith with representatives from the faith backgrounds of those on the council. Location: John Dewey Lounge (Old Mill, 2nd floor).
15: Prayer Shawl Ministry Information session: 7pm - Do you knit, or would you like to learn? We are starting a prayer shawl ministry here at the Catholic Center and would like to combine the efforts of both the students and permanent community members to create shawls for people needing comfort and solace.
17: Bowling Night at Yankee Lanes: 9pm - Meet at the Catholic Center at 8:45. The cost per person will be about $5.00. Please sign up in the lounge.
17: Stations of the Cross: 9:15pm.
18: Lenten Reflection: 11:15am-12:15pm - Sr. Frances will be leading a Lenten Reflection that is open to students and community members every Friday during Lent.
21: Dismas House Dinner: 3-5:30pm, 6-7pm - Come help us cook and serve dinner for the Dismas House, a community of men and women recently released from prison. We will cook the dinner at the Catholic Center from 3-5:30pm, and serve at the Dismas House from 6-7pm. If you cannot do both, please feel free to do one or the other! A sign up sheet is in the Lounge.

25: Deadline to register for CSA Spring Retreat: Retreat dates: March 11-13, Location will be Lake Ossipee, New Hampshire. The theme for this Spring's retreat will be "What Possessions Own You?", a retreat about sacrifice. Brochures with registration forms are available in the lounge.

5: Service Trip to Montreal: 8am-5pm - There will be a service trip to assist the Missionaries of Charity in putting together Easter baskets for local families. We will leave The Catholic Center at 8am and return at 5pm. Please sign up in the lounge.

14: Penance Service: 7pm - We will be having a Penance Service at the Catholic Center with visiting priests.

1: Pillsbury Manor: 2-4pm - Join us in visiting a home for elderly residents. Please sign up in the lounge.

18: Dismas House Dinner: 3-5:30pm, 5:30-6:30pm - Join us in cooking and serving dinner for the residents of the Dismas House, a community of men and women recently released from prison. We will cook here from 3:00-5:30pm, and will serve at the Dismas House from 5:30-6:30pm. Please sign up in the lounge.
19: Blood Drive: 3:30-7pm - Donors needed, as well as assistance with refreshments, registrations, etc. Please sign up in the lounge.
May
2: End-of-the-year CSA BBQ: 6:30pm - FREE FOOD! Come and join us as we have our last CSA dinner of the academic year!
4: Late Night Breakfast: 10pm - Come celebrate the end of classes with pancakes and bacon! Please sign up in the lounge.
11: Bible Study: 8:15pm - Last Student Bible Study of the academic year. Come join us!
13: Points for the Poor: Do you have extra points as the semester is coming to a close? Why not donate them to those less fortunate? Use your points to buy non-perishable foods and drop them in the boxes in the lounge of the Catholic Center. May 13 is the deadline for drop-offs.
15: Senior Mass: 9:30am - This mass is being said for Senior's intentions.
21: Baccalaureate Mass: 5pm - Seniors, if you plan on attending the Baccalaureate Mass, please e-mail the Catholic Center ( catholic@uvm.edu ) or call 862-8403, and let us know the number of persons attending.
