August

30&31: Coffee on the Go: 7:30-10am - Wake up with a cup of coffee on your way to class! Location will be next to the Catholic Center on Redstone Path. We would love to see the 'old faces' again as well as meet the new ones!

 

September

2: Catholic Student Association BBQ: 6:30pm - First CSA dinner of the new academic year. Stop by for some good food and time to catch up from the summer! Feel free to bring a friend!!

9: Salvation Army Dinner: 3-9pm - Help to prepare and serve dinner at the Salvation Army. This is a wonderful opportunity to both serve the Burlington community and to talk to some of those who are less fortunate than ourselves.

11: The Catholic Center Chapel will be open from 10am-5pm for prayers for peace

13: Catholic Student Association Meeting: 7:15pm - All are welcome to take a part in the planning of events for this year with the CSA.

14: Evening Mass with Fr. John McDermott: 9pm

15: Bowling Night: 6:30-9:30pm - FREE!! Meet at the Catholic Center at 6:30pm. We will return between 9:00 and 9:30pm. Bring a friend and make some new ones!

18: Tag Sale: This sale will benefit the Social Justice Committee of The Catholic Center. Drop off articles for our Tag Sale on Sat. Sept. 18th from 9am to 1pm at St. Joseph's Home on North Prospect Street. The Tag Sale is on Sat. Sept. 25th. We are also in need of help at the sale. For more details, please contact Joyce Pelletier from 6-8pm at 658-1831.

24/25: Tag Sale: We are still in need of volunteers to help with the tag sale (more info next to 9/18 calendar event) on 9/24 from 1-5pm and 9/25 from 7:30am-2pm. Please sign up in the lounge. Contact Joyce Pelletier from 6-8pm at 658-1831 for more info.

29: RCIA: 7pm - Anyone wishing to become a Catholic or to learn more about the Catholic faith is invited to become a part of the RCIA program (more info here - please disregard the old dates/contact info), which begins on the 29th at 7pm. Please sign up in the lounge.

 

October

3: Pancake Breakfast: Following the Sun. 9:30am and Noon masses - Students, please stop by with your parents on Parent's Weekend for a pancake breakfast. We would enjoy meeting your family and we think they will enjoy the breakfast we have planned for them. If your parents are unable to attend, please come by anyway and have breakfast with us!

4: FREE CSA Student Dinner: 6:30pm

5: First Year Student Prayer Group Meeting: 7pm - Please come and join us!

7: Feast of the Rosary: 9pm - Meet in the Chapel to pray and to meditate upon the Luminous Mysteries.

14: Salvation Army Dinner: 3-7:30pm - Help to prepare and serve dinner at the Salvation Army. This is a wonderful opportunity to both serve the Burlington community and to talk to some of those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Please sign up in the lounge.

16: Apple Picking : 10am - Meet at the Catholic Center. A sign up sheet is in the lounge.

17: CROP Walk: The CROP Walk raises money and awareness for the hungry in our community in Burlington, and throughout the world. It will take place on Sunday Oct 17th. It is not too soon to be finding pledges, or to pledge someone else! Please see our display board in the lounge.

17: Jesuit Volunteer Speaker: 7pm - A Jesuit Volunteer Corps representative will speak at the 7pm Sunday Mass and will be available to talk with you after Mass. If you have been considering service work after graduation, this is a good time to learn more about this amazing opportunity.

 

November

17: RCIA: 7pm - Anyone wishing to become a Catholic or to learn more about the Catholic faith is invited to become a part of the RCIA program.

19-20: Celebrate the Child: We will begin our annual baby items drive on November 19th and 20th. Our Christmas tree will be decorated with booties naming baby items requested by Women Helping Battered Women, Care Net, and Birthright. We hope to help many mothers and infants in need.

20: Pennies from Heaven: 10am-12pm - Anyone interested in shopping for Thanksgiving baskets for the less fortunate in the greater Burlington community, please sign up in the lounge!

21: Pennies from Heaven: 1-3pm - Assembling Thanksgiving baskets for Pennies from Heaven. Please sign up in the lounge.

21: Chapel Missalettes: 8:30pm - Help is needed in putting the new missalettes in the chapen on Sunday. When finished, there will be pizza!! Please sign up.

30: Advent Prayer Group for Students: 9pm - There will be an Advent Prayer Group for students every Tuesday night during Advent.

 

December

6: Penance Service with Visiting Priests: 7pm

7: Vigil Mass for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception: 7pm

8: Feast of the Immaculate Conception: Mass at 12:15 and 7pm
    Tree Trimming Party:
8pm - Help us decorate the Catholic Center
    Late Night Breakfast: 10pm - FREE - Pancakes and Bacon! - Please sign up in the Lounge.
    All Night Adoration: 11pm-7am - We are looking to have 2 people per hour. Please sign up in the Lounge.

9: Sandwich Making for Food Shelf: 7pm

11: Ruggles House Holiday Party: 1-3pm - Please join us in a holiday party with the residents of the Ruggles House. The Ruggles House is an intentional community for the elderly, all of whom would love to have you celebrate with them!
