Members of 2017

In addition to the qualities of scholarship, leadership and service that define all Boulder Society members, we would also like to be known by these words: the Boulder Class of 2017 will be involved, diverse, humble, full of school spirit, inspirational, inclusive and fun. We also want to emphasize our commitment to representing the undergraduate student body, a mission upon which the Boulder Society was founded.

			Tim Cece (President)
			Major / Minor:  Major in Public Communications with Minor in Speech & Debate Hometown:  Livingston, NJ Hobbies and Interests:  Music and the live performance of it, craft beer, hiking, climbing, pop culture. Post-Grad Plans:   Pursuing a career in the Live Music Presenting space. Campus Involvement:   UVM Outing Club (VP of Communication), University Program Board (Director of Marketing), Soundspace (Founder & Producer), Advising Center (Marketing Intern & Lead Peer Advisor)

			Ed Simon (Vice President)
			Major / Minor:  Major in Mechanical Engineering with Minor Mathematics Hometown:  Georgia, VT Hobbies and Interests:  Skiing, cliff jumping, and Motorcycle rides. Post-Grad Plans:   National guard aviation Vermont. Work on growing family business Georgia Mountain Homestead LLC. Engineering career. Campus Involvement:   Student Athlete Advisory Committee (chair), Track and Field (captain).

			Ian Weider (Treasurer)
			Major / Minor:  Business Administration/Coaching Hometown:  Thetford Center, Vermont Hobbies and Interests:  Athletics, Music, Hiking, Playing Cards and Napping. Post-Grad Plans:   I plan on attending graduate school to get my MBA or attend Law School. Campus Involvement:   Captain of the UVM Track & Field team (Long Jump), Vice-Chairman of UVM Student Athlete Advisory Committee, Mentor for College for Every Student, Intern with the UVM Athletic Department.

			Bill McSalis (Recruitment Chair)
			Major / Minor:  Nursing Hometown:  Saint George, VT Hobbies and Interests:  I'm an outdoorsman with a preference for non-motorized activities like hiking, paddling, and splitting firewood. I like to sing and I dabble in playing the banjo. In the Summers I like to read on the deck of the Lake Champlain Ferries where I am employed. I am currently trying to learn to knit and speak French.  Post-Grad Plans:   I want to work in an emergency department or intensive care unit to gain the experience necessary to one day provide disaster relief nursing.  Campus Involvement:   Top Cats, Catholic Student Organization.

			David Brandt (Junior Link)
			Major / Minor:  Double Major in Political Science and English; Minor in Spanish  Hometown:  Underhill, VT Hobbies and Interests:  Reading, lacrosse, racquet sports, hiking, politics.  Post-Grad Plans:   Law school; travel. Campus Involvement:   Board of Trustees, Chairperson of the SGA Academic Affairs Committee, AdvoCat, Writing Center Tutor, Teaching Assistant, Political Science Department.

			Jason Maulucci
			Major / Minor:  Political Science major with a minor in Economics Hometown:  Bolton, CT Hobbies and Interests:  Playing baseball, golf and fishing. Post-Grad Plans:   Pursuing a career in law or public service. Campus Involvement:   President of the UVM Student Government Association, Regional Director for Lt. Governor Phil Scott on his campaign for Governor of Vermont.

			Julian Becker
			Major / Minor:  Double Major Econ and Poli sci, Double minor German and Math. Hometown:  Niskayuna, NY Hobbies and Interests:  Music, Food, Travel, Computers and Hiking. Post-Grad Plans:   Business School and possibly a PhD in Finance Campus Involvement:   VP Mock Trial, Research Assistant, Intern at People's United Bank Business Banking, Teaching Assistant

			Kyle Kellett
			Major / Minor:  Neuroscience B.S. Hometown:  Sherman, CT Hobbies and Interests:  Playing guitar, hiking, camping, film, climbing, and music. Post-Grad Plans:   Medical School. Campus Involvement:   Alternative Spring Break (Site Leader, Director), Service TREK (Site Leader, Logistics Coordinator), Volunteers in Action (Treasurer), Adaptive Sports (Program Coordinator), Mortar Board (Treasurer), Salsa and Swing Society (West Coast Swing Director), Premedical Enhancement Program, Alpha Phi Omega, Nu Rho Psi, Undergraduate Research in Neuroscience, Davis Center Technical Assistant, UVM Program Board Production.

			Michael Lawler
			Major / Minor:  Neuroscience with Chemistry and Psychological Science minors. Hometown:  Richmond, VT Hobbies and Interests:  Singing, bread, piano, sushi, recorder (the instrument), long walks on the beach, piña coladas, and getting caught in the rain. Post-Grad Plans:   Pursuing either medical school or a clinical psychology PhD program. Campus Involvement:   UVM Top Cats a cappella (music director), Honors College, Neuroscience Club, Nu Rho Psi Honor Society, Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society, Research in the Department of Psychiatry at UVM Medical Center, Recipient of Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) for the Summer of 2016.

			Rob Motley
			Major / Minor:  B.S. in Psychological Science, Minor in Biology Hometown:  Woodstock, CT Hobbies and Interests:  Mountaineering, ice climbing, fly fishing, running, dabbling with the bagpipes, running, eating cheese burgers. Post-Grad Plans:   2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, hopefully as an Aviation or EOD Officer. Campus Involvement:   Army ROTC Cadet, UVM Outing Club Ice Climbing Leader, Center for Research on Emotion Technology and Stress (CREST) Lab Assistant.

It is going to be a big year for us. The Boulder Society Class of 2017 is very excited not only about graduating in the spring, but about making our last year at UVM something that we'll remember for the rest of our lives.
