Create Custom Bullets
- Changes need to be made in the Bullets And Numbering dialog box. Click the bullet style you want to customize.
-
The Bullets And Numbering dialog box contains the seven bullet characters currently accessible with a single click..
-
Click the Customize button. The Customize Bulleted List opens, giving you several ways to change the bullet or to use a picture as a bullet.
- Click Font to bring up the same Font dialog box that you would see if you were formatting text in a document. You can choose a different font, font size, character spacing, or text effect.
- It’s best to stick with fonts that are made for the purpose of creating symbols, such as bullets, because they offer the most options. The most common of these fonts are Wingdings and Webdings from Microsoft, which are probably on your PC, and Zapf Dingbats, which you probably have if you own an Adobe product such as InDesign CS2.
- Make the changes you wish in the Font dialog box and click OK. The new symbol will appear in the Customize Bulleted List.
- Click the Character button to change the look of the button within a particular font by choosing a different character. The Symbol dialog box appears. Choose a font from the drop-down box and select a character from the palette. Click OK, and the new symbol will appear in the Customize Bulleted List..
- Click the Picture button to access the final customization option. Click it to bring up the Picture Bullet dialog box. You can browse through thumbnails of the pictures or use the Search function. You can also import one in the form of clip art or a photo by clicking the Import button.
