Choose File | File Search.
In the Basic Search task pane, you can send Excel looking in any drives or folders for the magic phrase or number.
Enter the text you’re looking for in the Search Text box. The program is smart enough to look for common variations of words. So if you enter inventory, it will also turn up words such as inventories..
To specify where the search takes place, click the drop-down arrow for the Search In box and then click the plus (+) and minus (-) signs to expand and collapse folder views.
Click the boxes next to the ones you want Excel to search.
To speed up the search, click the drop-down arrow for the Results Should Be box and click the appropriate boxes to limit the results to Excel files only.
