Installing the Netlock Cisco VPN Client for Mac OS 8 or 9

A file containing a preconfigured profile for use at UVM must also be downloaded along with the client installer. This file must be placed in the following folder, System Folder -> Preferences -> Netlock Cisco Client after installation of the client software.

The necessary steps involved in the client software installation are as follows:
1. Download the client software and the configuration file from the software download page.
2. After downloading has finished, make sure you have a disk image folder on your desktop called Netlock Installer.
3. Install the client software by double-clicking the "Netlock Cisco 1.1" file in the Netlock Installer folder.
4. Do NOT choose "Restart" when the installer is finished. Choose "Quit" instead, then drag and drop the configuration file (called config.db) into the System Folder -> Preferences -> Netlock Cisco Client folder. Now restart your system. If you click "Restart" when the installer is finished, just drag and drop the config.db file into the correct folder after the system has started up, then restart your system again.
5. Obtain a license code for this product from the Software License Management System.
6. Write down this license code (or use "Copy" so that you can paste it into the license code field).
7. Start the Netlock VPN client (at the right side of your top menu bar) and enter your name, organization, and license code when prompted. Note: You MUST input University of Vermont in the organization field (not UVM and/or your department name) or you will get a "Missing or invalid license code" error. If you type in the license code instead of copying and pasting it, be sure to enter it exactly as it was given since it is case sensitive. Note: The license code uses only the letters "a" through "f". The characters "0" and "1" are numbers, not letters.
