Professional Experience

  1. 2012 to present Vermont Monitoring Cooperative, South Burlington, VT Data and Web Coordinator

    Provide capacity to archive and analyze large volumes of data through the creation and maintenance of complex databases of forest and ecosystem health projects in Vermont. Develop, administer and maintain the VMC website, including integration of automated data collection systems. Perform field work on automated data collections systems and associated research projects.

  2. 2010 to present World Bank Institute, Washington, DC Mapping and Governance Consultant

    Designed and deployed the Extractive Industries Map of Ghana, giving access to financial and socioeconomic information about the oil, gas and mining industries for better transparency. Traveled to Ghana and Mongolia in support of the World Bank Institute's mapping, extractive industries and open data work. Analyzed and mapped the intersection of past and potential urban areas and water resources of 31 cities in sub-Saharan Africa. Planned and delivered panels and presentations on the role of technology in improving natural resource governance. Worked with and coordinated members of diverse teams on additional projects as needed, such as developing a learning series about innovations in resource governance and designing new geographic data management systems.

  3. 2009 - 2010 Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR Graduate Research Assistant

    Created and managed a spatial database of water-related treaties. Worked as part of a team to analyze treaty resilience and projections of climate change impacts to identify areas at elevated risk for conflict due to future climate variability. Coordinated the writing and editing of a major report to the World Bank with contributors at several institutions. Contributed analysis, graphics and text to scholarly articles for submission to peer-reviewed journals. Assisted other researchers in planning and executing scientific studies on transboundary water conflict and cooperation.
