UVM CREST Program June 2015!

The University of Vermont Champlain Research Experience For Secondary Teachers (CREST) Program is hosting a five-day investigation of the history and ecology of Lake Champlain and Shelburne Pond!

When: June 22-26, 2015 from 8:30 am-4 pm

Where: UVM Rubenstein Ecosystem Science Laboratory at the ECHO Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, 1 College Street, Burlington, VT

Highlights: 

  • Learn about ways to integrate the principles, practices, and cross-cutting concepts of the Next Generation Science Standards and the Common Core Standards for Mathematics and Literacy into your curriculum and teaching
  • Engage in cutting edge research and history about Lake Champlain aboard UVM's Melosira Research Boat
  • Model best teaching practices that incorporate the latest in literacy, STEM, and computational thinking practices
  • Explore and utilize the resources at the Rubenstein Lab, Leahy ECHO Center, Melosira Research Boat, and Shelburne Pond
  • Program registration and full room & board at UVM will be provided for all teacher participants
  • Teachers can elect to receive 3 graduate credits
