About HSCI 1980 OL1
Introduces the principles and practices of analytical writing as applied to Health issues facing populations. Using literature and current events as a foundation, students learn different approaches to writing about issues relevant to the field of public health, including systemic racism and health equity. Prerequisite: ENGL 1001 or equivalent.

Section Description
This course introduces students to the principles and practices of analytical writing as applied to Health issues facing populations. Using literature and current events as a foundation, students will learn different approaches to writing about issues relevant to the field of public health, including systemic racism and health equity. Each writing assignment is scaffolded so students will engage in writing as a process, with both written and oral feedback from the instructor. The final portfolio will contain papers that allow for further development in future coursework and career paths.
