Notes

Asynchronous online

Section Description

This class is intended to develop a student’s abilities and knowledge in drawing while expanding their artistic understanding of form and meaning. Designed as a foundational course, it does not assume any previous experience in drawing. The assignments will be based largely on a direct observational approach. We will consistently relate back to four key considerations: line quality, composition, proportion & perspective, and form & space.

Section Expectation

For this asynchronous online drawing course, the instructor will provide slide shows and online video instructions associated with each homework assignment. Homework drawings will be due one week from when they are assigned unless specifically stated otherwise.

Evaluation

Grades will be based on quality and quantity of work, and overall improvement. Quality of work will be assessed based on methods and ideas taught as well as personal experimentation and vision.
