Graduate Assistants play a critical role at the University and within our division. Graduate assistantships at UVM offer the opportunity to put theory into practice and assist students with their intellectual, personal, social and emotional development.

If you are interested in applying for a Graduate Assistantship, check out all of the currently available assistantships and application process. There are three main parts to the application process:

  • Submit your academic application to the Graduate College
  • Submit your graduate assistantships application (this includes the application and three letters of recommendation)
  • The application deadline for the graduate assistantships and the HESA academic program is December 1.

Note: We no longer require GRE scores

After your academic application is reviewed students are invited by the HESA faculty for interview days, both academic and graduate assistantship, which will be on January 29-30, 2018 and February 11-12, 2018. We are currently updating the 2018 HESA Visit Day booklet. The new booklet will be available by December 2017.

Many questions about our process can be answered in the frequently asked questions section of this website. If you have an any additional questions about our process please email us at sagrads@uvm.edu.

We invite you download our HESA Brochure and share with prospective HESA students.
