InfoEd S2S for all Federal Grants.Gov Sponsors

UVM has been successfully using InfoEd System-to-System (S2S) to submit National Institutes of Health (NIH) proposals since 2007.

Starting 11/20/17, UVM will expand use of InfoEd S2S beyond NIH to now also include all those federal sponsors that utilize Grants.Gov Adobe Application Packages or Grants.Gov Workspace Forms.

This means that Principal Investigators are no longer be required to download and complete the Grants.Gov Adobe Application Package or to login and use the Grants.Gov Workspace solution to build their proposals.

Rather, the proposal will be constructed entirely in InfoEd, and when ready for submission, SPA will submit the proposal system-to-system directly to Grants.Gov.

What about NSF Fastlane?

UVM faculty submitting proposals to National Science Foundation (NSF) will continue to use Fastlane.

InfoEd S2S Advantages

InfoEd S2S offers several distinct advantages which help to ease the administrative burden in the proposal development process.

  • Work in one system; generate your proposal and budget, route for approvals, then submit.
  • No more version control issues
  • InfoEd pre-validates the submission to ensure the error free submissions to
  • InfoEd imports necessary personnel and institutional data, eliminating the need to locate and manually input the data onto proposal forms.
  • Users may upload proposal documents in original file format, eliminating the need to convert documents to PDF files.
  • Allows collaborators to work simultaneously on the proposal, making real time changes.

Training Options

  • SPA will provide one-on-one, just in time training, for UVM faculty and staff.
  • Training can be provided in your office or over the phone.
  • Please contact Cathy Ruley Condon or call 656-5560 to schedule training at a time convenient for you.

A Word About the 12/31/17 Grants.Gov Transition to Workspace

  • UVM’s expanded use of InfoEd S2S comes at same time that Grants.Gov is transitioning to the new Grants.Gov Workspace on-line environment.
  • Since UVM will now use InfoEd S2S for federal sponsors, UVM faculty and staff need NOT spend time learning to use Grants.Gov Workspace
  • Rather, similar to the model SPA established for NIH proposal submissions, Grants.Gov Workspace will be used solely as a back-up alternative.
