<\/i>Location:\u00a0<\/b>3 College St, Burlington, VT (on the south side of the Rubenstein Ecosystem Sciences\/ECHO building). Please note that parking there requires an hourly payment.<\/p>\n

A trip<\/span>\u00a0aboard the R\/V Marcelle\u00a0<\/span>Melosira<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>will be offered\u00a0<\/span>for<\/span>\u00a0science writers and\u00a0<\/span>media from across the Lake Champlain Basin<\/span>\u00a0on\u00a0<\/span>July 7<\/span>\u00a0from 10<\/span>:00\u00a0<\/span>AM to<\/span> noon. <\/span>This\u00a0<\/span>trip on Lake Champlain will focus on\u00a0<\/span>cyanobacteria blooms<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>will\u00a0<\/span>include short presentations by<\/span>\u00a0several leading\u00a0<\/span>researchers in the L<\/span>ake Champlain\u00a0<\/span>Basin<\/span>\u00a0about the status of<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>cyanobacteria blooms\u00a0<\/span>in the lake<\/span>\u00a0and other waterbo<\/span>dies<\/span>\u00a0in the Basin<\/span>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

There will be an opportunity for the <\/span>trip participants to\u00a0<\/span>engage in one-on-one interviews with the\u00a0<\/span>researchers<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>a hand<\/span>s<\/span>-on\u00a0<\/span>activity\/<\/span>demonstration<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>(challenge by choice)<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0<\/span>sample\u00a0<\/span>the lake water\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>see\u00a0<\/span>some of the cyanobacteria\u00a0<\/span>up close through\u00a0<\/span>m<\/span>icr<\/span>oscopes\u00a0<\/span>connected to a la<\/span>rge<\/span>\u00a0screen display\u00a0<\/span>in the\u00a0<\/span>classroom aboard the<\/span> R\/V.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Registration<\/span> is on a first-come, first-served<\/span>\u00a0basis<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
