By surveying birds, mammals, and amphibians along shorelines with varying levels of human alteration, we are working to identify best practices that support healthy ecosystems. Partnering with the Upper Saranac Foundation, we are sharing findings directly with landowners, developing improved shoreline protection guidelines, and providing an empirical foundation for a Lake Wise\u2013style program in New York.
