He\u00a0joined his colleagues in the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) who are studying Lake Morey and Lake Fairlee in eastern Vermont this summer.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tRising phosphorus levels in the lakes, along with increasing temperatures, foretell of worsening cyanobacteria\u00a0levels. DEC\u00a0scientists hope to learn how to combat the cyanobacteria, often called blue-green algae, before they bloom into a much bigger problem.
