Knauss\u00a0fellows are matched with \u201chosts\u201d in executive or legislative offices in Washington, DC. Executive placements may be with NOAA, the U.S. Navy, the Department of Transportation, Water Power Technologies in the Department of Energy, the Fish and Wildlife Service, the Environmental Protection Agency, or others. Legislative placements may be with the U.S. senators or representatives of committees within Congress, such as the House Committee on Natural Resources or the U.S. Senate Committee on Science, Commerce and Transportation.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe fellowship\u00a0will start June 1, 2027, and run through May 31, 2028.\u00a0Base funding for each award is\u00a0$97,200.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<em><strong>Application Timeline<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>(OPTIONAL) May\u00a06, 2026:<\/strong>\u00a0Submit your CV, personal statement, 2027 plans statement, and transcripts to Lake Champlain Sea Grant for informal feedback.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\n\t<strong>June 3, 2026, by 5 pm ET:\u00a0<\/strong>Submit the full application package, described below, to Lake Champlain Sea Grant.\u00a0Incomplete applications will not be accepted, per national rules. Preparation can take up to a month, so please plan ahead.
