Lake Champlain Sea Grant provides early-career training and research experiences around critical coastal, marine, and freshwater issues in the Lake Champlain basin and beyond. Through collaboration and co-funding with partner organizations, highly qualified university graduate students and post-graduates may qualify for prestigious fellowships that will cover PhD studies or work experiences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sea Grant John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship<\/h3><\/div><\/div>

This one-year national fellowship based in Washington is available to graduating graduate students with interest and experience in ocean and coastal management and policy. National Marine Fisheries Service\/Sea Grant Joint Fellowship Program<\/h3><\/div><\/div>

The NMFS-Sea Grant Joint Fellowship Program in Population and Ecosystem Dynamics and Marine Resource Economics is designed to help Sea Grant fulfill its broad educational responsibilities and to strengthen the collaboration between Sea Grant and the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS).\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Coastal Management and Digital Coast Fellowship<\/h3><\/div><\/div>
\n

The NOAA Digital Coast Fellowship provides on-the-job education and training opportunities in coastal resource management and policy for postgraduate students and provides technical assistance to help advance the goals of the Digital Coast and its partner organizations. Up to three fellows are placed with Digital Coast Partner organizations every other year, in the even years. The program matches postgraduate students to work on projects proposed by a Digital Coast Partner organization and selected by NOAA. This two-year opportunity offers a competitive salary, medical benefits, and travel and relocation expense reimbursement. This opportunity is currently not seeking applicants. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Lake Champlain Sea Grant Scholars Program<\/h3><\/div><\/div>

The mission of Lake Champlain Sea Grant is to develop and share science-based knowledge to benefit the environment and economies. We offer a 13-month Sea Grant Scholars program for undergraduate students interested in the sciences and related fields. Scholars receive a one-year academic scholarship to offset educational and living expenses, a paid summer internship, and ongoing professional development opportunities. Watershed Educator Positions with Watershed Alliance<\/h3><\/div><\/div>
\n

Watershed Alliance aims to increase awareness and knowledge of watershed issues in the Lake Champlain Basin (both in NY and VT). Each spring and fall we hire a cohort of undergraduate students, known as Watershed Educators, who are actively looking to gain experience educating K-12 students about water resources and watershed education. Watershed Educators receive training in stream ecology, watershed science and teaching science as inquiry. They learn important group management skills that are applicable both in the field and classroom. These skills are then used to teach K-12 students about our watershed out on our research vessel, at local stream sites, or in classrooms across the state (mileage is reimbursed for travel). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
