Research Laboratory Technician

Karin is the Laboratory Technician for the INSPIRES project led by PIs Anthony D’Amato, Aimée Classen, and Carol Adair. This project uses novel sensor technology to collect big data on forest health in a variety of forest types. The analysis and integration of this data will help inform ecological models which aid in determining the future integrity of forests in the Northeast and beyond. This project is a collaboration between the University of Vermont, the University of Maine, and the University of New Hampshire. Karin works in the lab and the field to program and deploy sensors, analyze data, and manage the team.

Karin is a 2020 graduate of UVM having majored in Biological Sciences with focus on ecological research. Her summer research was centered on how plant functional traits effect community response to climate change.
