UVM's Environmental Sciences graduates are environmentalists on many levels and are actively working in communities around the world. The world's ever-increasing environmental challenges have created an urgency for solutions-oriented environmental scientists. Our graduates have been successful in gaining employment in a wide variety of settings, including regulatory agencies, non-profit organizations and environmental consulting firms. Their positions range from lab (e.g. Environmental Chemist), to field (e.g. Hydrologic Scientist), to conservation (e.g. Lead Biologist), to technology (e.g. GIS Specialist), to business (e.g. Energy Consultant), to planning (e.g. Lead Planner), to management focuses (e.g. Environmental Resource Specialist).
