Senior Military Science Instructor

MSG Matthew Lally was born in 1983 in Greenwich, Connecticut and entered Active Duty in August of 2003. He attended Basic Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky and then Advanced Individual Training for 92F, Petroleum Specialist at Fort Lee, Virginia. MSG Lally entered the Bonus Extension and Retraining Program in 2005 and attended One Station Unit Training for 11B, Infantryman at Fort Benning, Georgia.

MSG Lally’s previous assignments include C Company, 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, Fort Drum, New York, E Company, 1st Battalion, 79th Field Artillery Regiment, Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Headquarters, 3rd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, Baumholder, Germany, C Company, 3rd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, Baumholder, Germany, C Company, 2nd battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, Baumholder, Germany, Headquarters, 504th Battalion, 42nd Brigade, Fort Lewis, Washington. His duty positions have included M240B Gunner, Team Leader, Squad Leader, Section Leader, Weapons Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Battalion Master Gunner, Senior Drill Sergeant and First Sergeant.

His military education includes Commander/First Sergeant Course, Senior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course (Commandant’s List), Warrior Leader Course, Bradley Master Gunner Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), Drill Sergeant School (Commandant’s List), Air Assault Course, Advanced Combat Life Saver Course, Unit Prevention Leader Course, Safety Officer Course, Short-Range Marksmanship Course, Army Basic Instructor Course and Unit Conduct of Fire Senior Instructor Course. Civilian education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from American Military University and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from the University of Louisville, Kentucky.

MSG Lally is also a recipient of The Order of Saint Maurice.
