First-Year Cadet Instructor/Leadership Minor Advisor

 Sarah Griffin was born in Mineola, New York and grew up in Amherst, New Hampshire. She was commissioned into the United States Army Reserve as an Adjutant General Corps officer in 2012 from the University of Vermont ROTC Program. She has since served in the Vermont Army National Guard and the Rhode Island Army National Guard.

She has served in a variety of roles including Battalion S-1, Brigade Strength Manager, Assistant Brigade S-1, J-1 Director, M-1 Advisor, and Officer Candidate School Instructor.  

Sarah's most recent operational assignment was in 2023-2024 to Baghdad, Iraq where she served in a dual-hatted role as both the Special Operations Advisory Group J-1 Director, as well as the M-1 Advisor for the Iraqi Counter Terrorism Service. 

Sarah is the UVM ROTC First-Year Cadet Instructor and Military Leadership Minor Advisor. She has earned her Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, and PhD from the University of Vermont and is well suited to help cadets navigate their academic experience.
