Executive Officer

MAJ Joseph Pittard enlisted in 2001 as a Trombone Player in the Army Band with the 1st Infantry Division in Bamberg, Germany. He deployed with the Band to Iraq in 2004 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II. Upon redeployment, MAJ Pittard applied for the Green to Gold Program with the Active Duty Option. MAJ Pittard earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music from Augusta State University, Georgia, and his commission from their ROTC program. He is a graduate of the Transportation Officer Basic Course, the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, and the Command and General Staff College. MAJ Pittard served in various command and staff positions in the Army since 2001. His assignments include duty as a Platoon Leader, 89th Transportation Company, 7th Sustainment Brigade; Executive Officer, 73rd Transportation Company (Floating Craft), 7th Sustainment Brigade at Fort Eustis, Virginia; Assistant S4, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division; Company Commander, G Forward Support Company, 3rd Battalion, 16th Field Artillery Regiment at Fort Carson, Colorado; OC/T and Operations Officer, 3-410 Engineer Battalion, 402nd Field Artillery Brigade, First Army; Battalion S3, 1-361 Brigade Support Battalion, First Army; Senior OC/T and Logistics Planner, 5th Armored Brigade, First Army at Fort Bliss, Texas; Deputy Support Operations Officer, 10th Mountain Division Sustainment Brigade; Executive Officer, Headquarters and Special Troops Battalion, 10th Mountain Division
Sustainment Brigade; Brigade S4, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York. He served in four overseas assignments to include one in Germany, two in Iraq, and one in Afghanistan.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star (with one oak leaf cluster), the Meritorious Service Medal (with one oak leaf cluster), the Army Commendation Medal (with three oak leaf clusters), the Army Achievement Medal (with one oak leaf cluster), the Army Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal (with two campaign stars), the Iraqi Campaign Medal (with two campaign stars), the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the NATO Medal.


MAJ Pittard and his wife, Jennifer, are from Georgia.
