Checklist

Congratulations on getting a postdoctoral position at UVM! Now what?

Find housing
Contact the administrator in your department to make sure everything is set up for your arrival
For international postdocs, contact the Office of International Education

Apply for a Social Security Number and open a US bank account, if you don't have them yet. Check our International Postdoc Page for more info!
Attend new employee orientation with Human Resources, make sure you bring all of the information that they will need (a list is availabe on their website)
Enroll in any benefits that you qualify for
Obtain your CatCard and get authorization for any buildings/rooms that you need to access
Get a UVM NetID, and a COM email address if you are in the College of Medicine
Complete all required Lab and Safety Training
Make sure you are on the Postdoc Listserv, email us, postdocs@uvm.edu, if you are not
Join the National Postdoctoral Association (it's free for UVM postdocs)
