UVM's Institutional Policies Website
This website is a part of the University's Compliance Program which coordinates the publishing and archiving of University administrative policies. While the Office of Compliance Services is responsible for maintaining the policy website, responsibility for policy content resides with the responsible official, typically a University Vice President.
This site offers policies that have been through the official University policy development process (refer to the navigation links in the left border for the process requirements, definitions, etc). The left border also provides multiple tools to locate a policy or a group of related policies.
By establishing specific requirements for all members of the University community, policies connect the university's mission to individual conduct, institutionalize impartial expectations, support compliance with laws and regulation, mitigate institutional risk, and enhance productivity and efficiency in the university's operations.
A goal of the Office of Compliance Services is to simplify the understanding of the many external laws, regulations and internal policies that a University employee needs to follow to make good decisions. With this goal in mind, please share your thoughts on how we can improve our services. To do so, please contact the Office of Compliance Services at 656-3086 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Additional policies that pertain to academic processes or specific University groups are posted separately. Please review the "Additional University Policies" section on the left column menu for links to these policies.
*Warning* This site publishes the current official University of Vermont Policies. University policies located on other websites may be incorrect or obsolete. University websites wishing to communicate a University policy should link to the policy on this site. A leading web address of: "http://www.uvm.edu/policies/" indicates a policy resides on the University's official policy site.
ANY UNIVERSITY POLICY THAT DEALS IN WHOLE OR IN PART WITH POTENTIAL DISCIPLINARY MATTERS SHALL NOT CONTRAVENE THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT.
