New Sustainability Research Capitalization Funding

To help grow UVM research capacity, the Office of the Vice President for Research will provide matching funds up to $300k per item for research equipment related to sustainability research. OVPR will dedicate $1million in matching funds in FY21. Applicants should identify which of the following sustainability research areas the equipment will support and how the equipment advances ongoing UVM research in that area:  Longer, fuller lives; Balanced Communities; Healthy Foods from Healthy Farms; Ecosystem Resilience; and/or Greening Vermont Businesses. Applicants must identify and provide a 1:1 match for this program.

Applications from non-STEM departments, projects or centers are welcome and consideration will be given to how equipment purchases can help address the need for funding growth in this area.

More than one application per College/Center is acceptable, but consideration will be given to supporting a range of topic areas/users.

Notification of awards is anticipated to be communicated by email to applicants by Nov. 1, 2020.
