Core Facility Upgrade Funding

The Office of Research will make funds available for core facility upgrades and maintenance. Funds are limited to $150k in FY21. Grants will be made to support the needs of UVM core facilities that can demonstrate the need for new equipment and the potential for that equipment to enhance our ability to attract external support.
The definition of core facilities is drawn widely and can include joint use spaces/facilities in the creative arts or education space.

We anticipate making award notifications by Monday, Nov. 15, 2020.

Deadline: Applications are due October 30, 2020 by 5pm

Application Requirements:

Proposal (3-page limit)
Please include information on current user base of the core by name and external grants that were/are supported by the core in the last 3 years.

Note: Equipment already planned for purchase as part of startup packages cannot be included in this request.

Formatting: Please use a font of 11 pt. or larger. Margins, in all directions, must be at least 0.5”. A brief list of references/bibliography may be appended to the proposal and will be excluded from the 3-page limit for the proposal.

CV or Resume of the Core Director
Please include a CV for the Core Director who will serve as the Project Lead.
