About Duncan Murdoch
Duncan's formative years were spent along the shores of Lake Champlain in rural Vermont, where he developed a profound connection to nature. After earning his degree from Bates College, he worked as an actor in New York City for over a decade. Upon realizing that acting was no longer his path, he redirected his focus towards nature, wellness and community engagement.
Duncan's journey in this new direction began with a role as a horticulturist at Randall's Island. In 2014, he achieved certification as a Nature & Forest Therapy Guide from ANFT in California being the first cohort in the United States. This credential then enabled him to formally start his practice of guiding forest bathing walks in 2015.
Returning to Vermont, Duncan gained his certification as a Health and Wellness coach and now serves the community offering forest bathing walks and health and wellness walks in nature. He also serves as a Land Steward at the Intervale Center, fostering a deeper, healthier bond between individuals and the natural world.

Occurring throughout the four seasons of Vermont, these walks offer Nature Mindfulness techniques to develop a deeper and more meaningful relationship to themselves and the natural world. Walks are typically 2-3 hours and are designed to touch on the traditional 5 senses and beyond. Walks are leisurely and slow and take place in a local green space. There is ample time for private communing and as well times to speak and reflect on their experience.
