President’s Distinguished University Citizenship and Service Award

Nominations are open through Feb. 1, 2023, for faculty – lecturer or clinical faculty, full-time tenure or tenure-track faculty, research faculty, library faculty, or extension faculty – who have worked at the University of Vermont for at least five years. Nominees for this award must have demonstrated sustained and exceptional leadership and service to UVM. This includes, but is not limited to, service at the department, college or school, or University-wide level service on committees, governance groups, and advising student organizations or committees. Faculty members serving in administrative roles are eligible for the award. More information about this award

President’s Distinguished Senior Lecturer and Lecturer Awards

Nominations are open through Feb. 1, 2023, for faculty who hold the rank of Senior Lecturer or Lecturer for their outstanding teaching, scholarship, and service. All full-time faculty with a minimum of three years or more in the rank of Senior Lecturer or Lecturer are eligible for consideration. Eligible faculty may be nominated by a dean, department chair, or faculty within the academic discipline of the nominee. Faculty, staff and students may nominate faculty members for the 2023 President’s Distinguished Senior Lecturer and Lecturer Awards. Faculty members may self-nominate. Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Teaching Award

Nominations are open through Feb. 1, 2023, for the Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Teaching Award. This award honors and recognizes the teaching contributions of part-time faculty. All part-time faculty who satisfy the criteria are eligible for consideration. Eligible faculty may be nominated by a dean, department chair, or faculty within the academic discipline of the nominee. Faculty, staff and students may nominate faculty members for the 2023 Outstanding Part-Time Faculty Teaching Award. Faculty members may self-nominate. More information about this award

Kroepsch-Maurice Excellence in Teaching Awards

Nominations are open through Feb. 1, 2023, for the Kroepsch-Maurice Excellence in Teaching Awards. The Kroepsch-Maurice awards recognize faculty for their excellence in teaching of courses, including creation of an environment conducive to/encouragement of learning. Each year, one faculty member in each of the four rank categories (Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Clinical Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor) receives this honor. All full-time UVM faculty members engaged in teaching, with the exception of previous award winners, are eligible for the award. Faculty, staff and students may nominate faculty members for the Kroepsch-Maurice Excellence in Teaching Awards. More information about this award

University Scholars Program Award

Nominations are open through Feb. 1, 2023, for the University Scholars Program Award. This award honors and recognizes distinguished UVM faculty members for sustained excellence in research, creative and scholarly activities. This award will be available in two categories: 1) Social Sciences, Humanities and Creative Arts, and 2) Basic and Applied Sciences (including Biological, Medical and Physical Sciences). Nominees are expected to be at the highest rank in their faculty track and to have sustained excellence promoting research, creative activities and scholarship in their discipline at that rank. Any full-time UVM faculty member may nominate or re-nominate any full-time member of the faculty for a University Scholars Award. Please note that this award is not limited to members of the Graduate Faculty. More information about this award

University Distinguished Professor Award

Nominations are open through Feb. 1, 2023, for the University Distinguished Professor Award. This award is the highest academic honor that UVM can bestow upon a member of the faculty. Holders of this title are recognized not only for having achieved international eminence within their respective fields of study, but for the truly transformative nature of their contributions to the advancement of knowledge. These faculty members are considered top scholars who have excelled in their disciplines. Nominees must hold a full-time faculty appointment at the University of Vermont at the rank of Professor and must have held faculty status at the University for a minimum of 10 years. Any full-time UVM faculty member, Chairs and Deans may nominate any full-time member of the faculty for this University Distinguished Professor Award. More information about this award

Outstanding Faculty Advisor Award

Nominations are open through Feb. 1, 2023, for any full-time UVM faculty member engaged in undergraduate advising. This award recognizes a faculty member at UVM who has achieved excellence in displaying and enacting responsiveness, availability, concern, respect and depth of knowledge in undergraduate academic advising. This Award is a collaboration of the Office of the Provost, the Student Affairs Committee of the Faculty Senate, and the Student Government Association. Any student, faculty or staff member at the University of Vermont may nominate a faculty advisor for this award. More information about this award
