Digging Deep to Better Understand Agroecology

Research IconThe Institute for Agroecology leads and facilitates critical participatory and transdisciplinary action research that explores alternative approaches to persistent food system challenges. Our research centers social learning through networks of diverse actors engaged in knowledge dialogues. By weaving these knowledges together, we work together to generate new solutions and to catalyze transformations. These knowledges include both the conventional academic disciplines, ranging from the natural sciences to the humanities, alongside indigenous and local ways of knowing. The Institute both leads signature research programs as well as supports faculty-, community-, and student-led research from across and beyond UVM.
