Peer Leaders (student staff position)

The UVM Career Center  connects  students & alums  to people, opportunities and resources to help them find and pursue experiences, develop skills, explore  interests, and expand their networks.  As a Peer Leader, you will  be trained to  support all these efforts. You will...

  • staff drop-in hours to address common career questions and refer students to our wide array of resources;
  • offer guidance to your peers on their resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles (in-person and virtually);
  • support career-related events (large and small);
  • play a KEY role in expanding our reach and connection to our Career Interest Groups;
  • engage with JEDI (justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion) practices, exploration, and learnings; and
  • advance your own career readiness through the experience and training!

We seek applicants who  can contribute  varying perspectives and experiences to our work. 

Must be able to attend training from Monday, August 19 to Friday, August 23 (the week prior to the first week of classes) as well as weekly meetings during the semester (typically Mondays at 2:15pm, but subject to change) . Please plan your schedule accordingly.

 8-10 hours/week throughout the academic year. Open to rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors; open to both Non-Work-Study and Work-Study students.
