Dr. Glenn McRae is the Director of the Northeast Transportation Research Center at the UVMTRC. He joined the University of Vermont Transportation Research Center in 2011 to direct the Transportation Education Development Pilot Program (TEDDP) and has been active in establishment of the National Network for the Transportation Workforce, coordinates the National Transportation Training Directors network, and develops Career Pathway Programming for support programming the USDOT ITS Professional Capacity Building Program.

Glenn is excited to be working on transformative program development to attract the next generation of transportation professionals as part of these national efforts. Attracting and retaining talent to the rapidly evolving field of transportation and mobility means addressing the need to create equitable access to career opportunity and to reach out to traditionally under-represented groups in the transportation discipline.

Glenn has spent the last thirty years creating and implementing programs and initiatives in Vermont and around the country that build organizational capacity and empower citizens to more fully participate and engage in their community, their enterprises and their government. He has worked extensively with international efforts to reduce the environmental footprint of the health care industry, including efforts for the World Bank, USAID and the World Health Organization.

He began teaching at UVM in 2001 with the Anthropology Department and later in 2007 with the Masters in Public Administration program while he served as Director of Public Policy at the Snelling Center for Government.  He currently supports graduate public administration students in their capstone experience.
