The environment is critical to global health and well-being.

The Gund is pioneering efforts to understand – and quantify – the causal links through which nature supports human health and well-being, from infectious diseases and nutrition to mental health and happiness.

Gund research on health and the environment includes: the health impacts of climate change, environmental factors of disease, cancers and illness, nature and mental health, relationship between the environment and diet quality, and pollution and water quality.

These efforts intersect closely with other signature research themes – resilient communities, sustainable agriculture, and climate solutions – to address a range of urgent health and well-being questions.
