From megacities to rural towns, human settlements are being transformed by climate change, migration, and growth.

More than 60% of the world’s people now live in cities, with far-ranging environmental and social impacts.

Gund research seeks to accelerate the transition to resilient, sustainable communities through interdisciplinary research and partnerships. We tackle a range of pressing issues, including climate mitigation, renewable energy, sustainable decisions, and social justice.

Our focus is on the interactions among these issues and three other core research themes: climate solutions, health and well-being, and sustainable agriculture.
