This Policy Applies To:

All faculty, students, and personnel who have research responsibilities in conjunction with their employment or in conjunction with a course of study, and any other persons who are required by law or federal regulation to be covered by an approved University policy regarding misconduct.

What is Research Misconduct:

“Research misconduct” means fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism in proposing, performing, or reviewing research, or in reporting research results.

a) Fabrication is making up data or results and recording or reporting them.

b) Falsification is manipulating research materials, equipment, or processes, or changing or omitting data or results such that the research is not accurately represented in the research record.

c) Plagiarism is the appropriation of another person's ideas, processes, results, or words without giving appropriate credit.

What is NOT Research Misconduct:

Research misconduct does not include honest error or differences of opinion.

Report Research Misconduct

If you have a question with respect to possible research misconduct or if you suspect or know anyone that is or may be involved in research misconduct, you can file an allegation in one of the following ways:
