Welcome to the University of Vermont!

Dear New UVM Faculty Colleagues,

We are a vibrant university with faculty members who pride themselves on their scholarship, teaching and outreach to the state of Vermont, the nation and the world. Whether you have years of university experience or are coming directly from your graduate program, your new position is bound to be challenging as you find yourself managing the multiple roles of teacher, scholar, advisor, departmental colleague and university citizen.

This web page will help you to develop an appreciation for the excellence of the University of Vermont's community and to become familiar with the University's many resources.

We're glad you are joining our community and I look forward to meeting you at New Faculty Orientation in August.

Jane E. Okech, PhD
Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs

New Faculty Orientation

This is a mandatory two-day orientation for faculty members new to the full-time bargaining unit (optional for new part-time faculty) in which new faculty members will be introduced to the University's senior leadership, receive information about Human Resource Services, enroll in employee benefit programs, and learn about important academic policies and procedures.
