classroom with students listening intently

ENVS offers advising to students to help shape their academic career.

An advisor is an important academic guide and mentor. The better your relationship with your academic advisor, the better they can serve you in the future.

How do I find an ENVS advisor?

Ben Langton (email link) is our professional advisor for first year students.  Please feel free to reach out to him with any questions.

If you have declared an ENVS major, an ENVS advisor will be assigned to you.

Not sure who your assigned advisor is? This information can be found on the main page of your MyUVM account. If you still are unsure, or have not been assigned an advisor and should have one, please contact Suniva Thangaraj at  suniva.thangaraj@uvm.edu.

How do I make an appointment with my advisor?

Contact your advisor directly to schedule an appointment - Faculty Directory

What if I want to change my ENVS advisor?

We want you to feel happy and comfortable with your advisor. If you would like to change your ENVS advisor please fill out a Change of Advisor form.

Can I be advised by other UVM faculty members too?

You may meet with whomever you like among the UVM faculty. We encourage you to seek advising from faculty and other advisors/mentors from elsewhere on campus.
