Community Organizations

  • The mission of the Peace & Justice Center is to create a just and peaceful world. To this end, they work on the interconnected issues of economic and racial justice, peace, and human rights through education, advocacy, training, non-violent activism and community organizing.

  • Outright Vermont aims to build safe, healthy, and supportive environments for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning youth ages 13-22.

  • The mission of Burlington City Arts is to nurture a dynamic environment through the arts that makes quality experiences accessible to a broad audience.

  • Local Motion is a member-supported non-profit organization promoting people-powered transportation and recreation for healthy and sustainable Vermont communities.

Community Service Opportunities

  • The Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf works to alleviate hunger by feeding people and cultivating opportunities. As the largest direct service emergency food provider in Vermont, CEFS serves over 12,000 people each year.

  • King Street Youth Center's mission is to promote personal and social wellness through educational, recreational, and social programs.King Streets goal is to give children, youth, and families the life-building skills necessary for a healthy and productive future.

  • The Boys & Girls Club of Burlington, Vermont has been serving area youth since 1942. Their mission is to inspire and enable community youth, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, healthy, responsible and caring citizens.

  • The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Burlington, Vermont provides emotional support, comfort and temporary lodging to families with children receiving medical treatment at Vermont Children’s Hospital at UVM Medical Center.
