- 12 of those credits must be in literature
- 18 of those credits must be in courses numbered above 200

courses in this category: 141, courses numbered 230-259, or Special Topics courses on peninsular themes

3 credits: Culture and Civilization
courses in this category: courses numbered between 290-294 or 299
*One of your literature or culture courses must be devoted to study a pre-1800 topic. Examples are 246, 287, 291, 293, and Special Topics courses on pre-1800 literature themes.
 
SEQUENCE OF COURSE ENROLLMENT
Spanish 101 is the prerequisite for advanced language courses such as 201 and 202.
Spanish 140 is the prerequisite for all literature and culture courses.
You may take 101 before taking 140, or enroll concurrently.
